Corporate Samachar Mobile App — Privacy Policy
This section applies specifically to the Corporate Samachar Android and iOS mobile application (package name com.nectardigit.corporatesamachar), developed by Nectar Digit for CorporateSamachar.com. It describes what data the app collects, why, and the choices you have. The sections below this one describe the corporatesamachar.com website’s data practices; this section covers the app specifically.
Information we collect
- Google Sign-In (optional). If you choose to sign in with Google from the app’s Account screen, we access your Google name, email address, and profile photo to display them in the app. This information is used for display only — it is not sent to or stored on our servers. It is held only by the Google Sign-In SDK on your device for as long as you stay signed in, and is cleared when you sign out.
- Push notifications. If you allow notifications, Firebase Cloud Messaging assigns your device a messaging token so we can deliver breaking-news and category alerts you’ve subscribed to. This token identifies your device/app installation for delivery purposes, not you personally.
- App usage and diagnostics. We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand how the app is used and to diagnose crashes — this includes device model, OS version, app version, approximate (city-level) location derived from IP address, and in-app events (screens viewed, articles read, features used). If the app crashes, a diagnostic report (stack trace, device state) is sent automatically to help us fix the issue.
- Voice search (optional). If you use the microphone/voice-search feature, your speech is processed by your device’s on-device or operating-system speech-recognition service to convert it to search text. The app itself does not record, store, or transmit your voice audio to our servers.
- Locally stored data. Bookmarks/saved articles, app settings (theme, font size, notification preferences, language), and recently viewed articles are stored only on your device (not on our servers) and are removed if you uninstall the app or clear its storage.
- Advertising. Ads shown in the app are served from our own advertisement system on corporatesamachar.com — we do not use a third-party ad network SDK (e.g. Google AdMob, Meta Audience Network), so no cross-app advertising identifiers are collected by a third-party ad SDK for this purpose. Standard web request data (such as IP address) is received by our servers when ad images/content are loaded, the same as for any other content the app fetches.
Permissions the app requests
- Internet access — required to load news content, images, and ads.
- Notifications — required to deliver breaking-news and category push alerts; you can disable this anytime in the app’s Settings or your device’s system settings.
- Microphone — only used when you actively tap the voice-search button; never accessed in the background.
The app does not request access to your contacts, call log, SMS, location, camera, files/storage, or any other device data beyond what’s listed above.
Who we share data with
App usage, crash, and push-notification data described above is processed by Google Firebase (Google LLC), acting as our service provider. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own independent marketing purposes.
Data retention
Analytics and crash data is retained by Firebase according to Google’s standard retention periods (generally up to 14 months for analytics data). Locally stored data (bookmarks, settings) remains on your device until you clear it or uninstall the app. We do not retain a copy of your Google profile information on our servers at all — it exists only transiently on your device while you’re signed in.
Your rights: account and data deletion
You can disconnect your Google account from the app at any time from Account → साइन आउट गर्नुहोस् (Sign Out), which ends the local session and revokes the app’s access to your Google profile. Because we do not store your Google profile or any account data on our servers, there is no separate server-side account to delete — signing out (or simply uninstalling the app, which also clears all locally stored bookmarks and settings) fully removes any data associated with your use of the app on that device.

Children’s privacy

Comments
Articles on this site use the Facebook Comments plugin for reader comments, not WordPress’s own built-in comment system. When you post a comment, that comment, your Facebook profile name and photo, and your interaction with the comment box are handled directly by Facebook/Meta, not stored on our own servers — see Meta’s privacy policy at facebook.com/privacy/policy for how Meta handles that data. If you don’t have a Facebook account, or aren’t logged into one, you can still view existing comments but won’t be able to post one.
Media
Suggested text: If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics (via Google Site Kit) to understand site traffic and how visitors use corporatesamachar.com — this sets cookies and collects data such as your approximate location (derived from IP address), device/browser type, pages viewed, and how you arrived at the site. This data is processed by Google; see Google’s privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy. We do not use this data to identify you personally, and we do not run Google-served advertising (AdSense) on this site.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Embedded content from other websites

Who we share your data with
We share data with Google (Analytics, via Site Kit) for traffic analytics, and with Meta/Facebook (via the Facebook Comments plugin) if you choose to comment on an article. If you request a password reset for a staff/editor account, your IP address will be included in the reset email. We do not sell visitor data to third parties.
How long we retain your data
Comments are hosted and retained by Facebook according to Meta’s own retention policy, not ours. Google Analytics data is retained according to Google’s standard retention settings (currently configured for this property). For staff/editor users who register on our website, we store the personal information they provide in their user profile; such users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
Suggested text: If you have an account on this site, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes, or data held by third parties (Facebook/Meta, Google) under their own privacy policies.
Where your data is sent
Visitor traffic data is sent to Google (Analytics/Site Kit). Comment data, if you choose to comment on an article, is sent to Meta/Facebook. Neither is checked through a separate spam-detection service by us directly — each platform handles that on their own end.
